We are not just another wholesaler or online ordering platform

  • Facilitated sales to large-scale buyers looking to work with larger supply. Growers with ambitions to expand to large-scale wholesale sales, may discuss this with Food Hub representatives.

SW WA Food Hub participants determine their own pricing – the price you enter in the web based sales platform is what you are paid. One of the goals of the Food Hub is to educate buyers about the true cost of food production

Producer-members may and are encouraged to sell value-added products through the Food Hub (>51% of product must be grown on the farm). SW WA Food Hub participation is available to non-member (food processor) vendors as well, and incentives are in development to encourage use of local product in processed goods. Non-member vendors are required to pay an annual membership fee but are not able to own common stock or vote.

How Does it Work?

  • Producers create and update their own inventory, business profile and descriptions, pricing and availability.
  • Buyers establish an online account and shop online through the website.
  • Buyers place their order, choose a delivery date, time, and location, and pay one invoice online by credit card or purchase order (for qualifying customers).
  • Producers receive orders by email with delivery instructions.
  • Producers pack and deliver orders to the appropriate aggregation point.
  • The Food Hub coordinates customer pick-ups and/or delivery.
  • Products are labeled & indexed for pick-up. Customers are billed in one invoice and farmers are paid weekly.
