Grilled Apples with Cinnamon & Honey

Sweet and tender, these grilled apples are a delightful blend of smoky and spiced.
Ingredients:
  • 4 apples (4 apple slices per person)
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons rhum (optional)
  • pecans for decoration
Directions:
  1. Wash the apples thoroughly and pat them dry with a paper towel. Cut apples into thick slices or wedges
  2. about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick. Be sure to remove the core and any seeds or stems. This apple corer helps you do it fast. To prevent the apple slices from sticking to the grill
  3. brush them with oil on both sides.
  4. Mix melted butter
  5. cinnamon
  6. Rhum and honey in a small bowl until well combined.
  7. Make sure the bbq grill rack is clean and well-oiled. Preheat your gas or charcoal grill to medium-high heat. (400°F
  8. 200°C). Once the grill is hot
  9. place the apple slices directly on the grill. Brush the top side with the marinade. Grill your apples for 4 minutes on each side or until the thin slices are slightly charred and caramelized on the bottom. Flip the apple slices over and brush the other side with the glaze. Grill until the apples are tender and the grill marks appear. It’s just as tasty when prepared on a grill pan as cooked on the grill.
  10. Remove the apples from the grill
  11. sprinkle with cinnamon
  12. and drizzle with honey. You can also add pecans or other nuts.
